State Of The Internet Address
Earlier today I received a ‘late notice’ of a webinar that was about to take place in less than 30 minutes. I don’t know if that was a new marketing tactic that Frank Kern was experimenting with or not… but it worked. The notice was “fresh and hot”, I didn’t just write it down only to forget about it later, the time was 11:30 AM for me and I was available, so I thought, why not.
I have to say that I was very pleasantly surprised by the content and its delivery. The Internet marketing trends and practices (“old” vs. “new”) that Frank was talking about were portrayed with 100% accuracy, and had me make “notes to self” all the time, “Gosh, that’s so true!” or “That’s exactly what I’ve been telling myself, too!”
I did also like the style of Frank’s presentation at today’s webinar – very professional, very business-like, and at the same time very straightforward and friendly. I had watched a different video of Frank’s “live” talk the other day that had made an unfavorable impression on me because of constant swearing and profane “jokes” that had been used then to “spice up” the speech or perhaps attempt to make the presenter appear more “down-to-earth”… That didn’t work for me. I found it very unappealing. Today’s presentation, on the other hand, was a totally different story. I hope there will be a replay link that I could share.
Here’s the reason for this post though… In today’s webinar Frank referred more than once to something he called “State of the Internet Address”. I didn’t know what he was talking about, so after the webinar I did the obvious thing – I googled it. It turns out that this was a video address Frank Kern made right before the New Year… 2010! I watched it and was very impressed. Frank is summing up the entire past decade of the Internet and is outlining the trends and predictions – not just for the next year, but for the next decade. If you haven’t watched it yet, I strongly recommend you do that now. Click the play button below and really pay attention… Enjoy!
