Merry Christmas 2010

I just read a post by Chris Farrell on his membership site that I belong to, and couldn’t help thinking that I agree 100% with the two points that Chris brought up.

Just like Chris mentioned, I caught myself thinking more than once that perhaps “I’m too late” in this Internet business “game”, or that I’ll never be able to “catch up”…  And then again, that it’s time for me to change and time to substitute all the “activities” that I’ve been into (downloading another eBook, signing up for the latest shiny object) for some real *action* for a change!

I am very grateful to Chris for starting his Membership site and building this community of like-minded aspiring online entrepreneurs. Joining CFM and re-learning Internet Marketing “from scratch” following Chris’s easy and fun step-by-step videos was the main thing and the biggest change that happened to me in 2010. I very much look forward to 2011 with my Chris Farrell Membership friends!

Chris FarrellHere’s Chris’s post:

Hello …

…so another year almost over.

It only seems a few months ago we were all looking forward to 2010 doesn’t it…and now a new and shiny year is almost upon us waiting to be unwrapped.

I wanted to write a quick few lines – to wish you a very Merry Christmas. And I also wanted to share with you two random thoughts – that only now when I look back in hindsight – do I realize have helped my online business tremendously.

So….if you will allow me:

Random Thought Number 1.

Don’t think you are too late.

It is very easy in this business – to feel as if you have missed the boat.

Have you felt this?

Many have? Including myself….

You may know that I begun in 2008. But what you may not know – is that I THOUGHT about starting in this business – in 2003!

I procrastinated and did NOTHING about it – for 5 solid years!

Then – when I finally did start in 2008 – I clearly remember thinking I was too late.

The TRUTH is – we are all still so ahead of the curve just being interested in this subject matter.

This web is still in it’s infancy – Google has only just become a teenager. Facebook is still a toddler.

We are still on the starting blocks.

Now – really is the time to start.

So please don’t berate yourself if you are feeling you need to ‘hurry’. Instead march to your own beat – and take comfort in the fact that this business is a marathon – not a sprint.

Random Thought Number 2.

For things to change – you must change.

I leaned this from Jim Rohn.

It’s very easy in this business to confuse activity for action.

By that – I mean it’s very easy to convince ourselves that spending time on Facebook – downloading another eBook – signing up for the latest shiny object – means that we are working on our business.

We’re not. Sure there is a time for all of these activities…

…but if you want to make a serious change in your financial future – then you need to make a personal change now.

Otherwise – why should things be different 12 months from now??

They won’t.

I’m sure you’ve heard of the saying ‘If you do what you’ve always done — you’ll get what you’ve always got’.

I love that expression.

And it is 100% true.

So – what is this ‘change’ that I am referring to?

Try substituting the word ‘change’ – for ‘skills’.

One of the turning points in my online career – came in about July 2008.

I stopped being afraid of this business.

I stopped worrying about failing

And I managed to do this — because I finally learned – that all skills are learnable.

This was a HUGE revelation for me.

I’ve said this before – but I’ll say it again.

Making money online is a skill. Just like playing the guitar – or cooking – or plumbing – or writing – or ANYTHING.

But the key thing that I want you to realize – is that all skills are leanable.

Repeat after me – all skills are learnable!

By definition – that is what a skill is. Something that we can learn.

Playing the guitar – is a skill.

Learning how to play cards – is a skill.

Becoming a good pool player – is a skill.

Making money online – is a skill.

Sure – it will take time (it took me 6 months) — but then again –learning ANY new skill will take time.

Making money online is NOT some mystical wizardry – but instead something that can be achieved when a certain number of new skills are learned first (all taught here at this site).

Anyway — I just wanted to share these two quick thoughts with you — and I would also like to wish you a peaceful and wonderful Christmas.

Great post Natalia, I agree with Chris in that all skills are learnable and teachable. In order to change our current situation, we need to take a different path.

    Thanks Natatlia
